About The Ruse

It is customary at the start of such a venture to declare some kind of creed which, being announced, is carried out. 
Ours is a very simple one: we are two people who love the music huddled under the “Americana” umbrella very much and want to do all we can to help the good in it grow and the bad in it perish. To those who read our words, it will be very apparent what we think is good, what we think is bad, and why. Readers will find nothing but a healthy dose of contempt for the inauthentic “authenticity” so beloved in today’s scene, and for those who water down, dilute, or otherwise pervert folk song into folkum. 
In short, our motto is GIVE EM HELL.
